Compliance statements
This action is not included under the FY2021-23 Council Priority Workplan, as amended on March 15, 2021, but is an operational responsibility as a member of the League of California Cities.
CEQA Compliance Statement
This is not a project as defined by CEQA.
BACKGROUND
The League is requesting the names of the Council-approved voting delegates and alternate(s) for the Friday, September 9, 2022 Annual Business Meeting where the membership takes action on conference resolutions (see attached notice from the League of California Cities). The City Council must designate one voting delegate and may authorize up to two alternates.
The League’s delegation procedures are intended to ensure the integrity of the voting process at the Annual Business Meeting. At this time, both Mayor Xavier and City Attorney Stricker are registered to attend the Conference. Additional voting instructions may be issued by the League of California Cities, but the need to timely designate a Voting Delegate and an optional Voting Delegate Alternate remains the same.
FISCAL IMPACT
None associated with this action as the City has already paid the membership for this year and is included in the current budget, and both Mayor Xavier and City Attorney Stricker are already registered to attend the Conference.
