BACKGROUND
The City of San Pablo pays an annual membership fee to the League of California Cities which is an annual budgeted expense in the FY 2018-2021 Quadrennial General Fund Adopted Budget. The membership fees generally provide all local cities the following benefits/services, as follows:
• Unmatched Advocacy to the State Legislature and State Courts
• Timely Communication
• League Member Driven Priorities
• Best Local Government Practices
• Cutting-Edge Professional Management
The League of California Cities (League) uses a customary formula in the League’s By-Laws based on a per capita calculation to calculate the annual membership fee. For additional information on the calculation of this annual League membership fee calculation, please go to the attached link:

The City of San Pablo paid the annual League membership fee in the amount of $13,149, which increased by $383 from the 2019 dues of $12,766. The City Manager wishes to disclose this information to the public for transparency purposes.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are budgeted annually under the adopted FY 2018-2021 Quadrennial General Fund Operational Budget /City Council Departmental budget (#100-1110-43300).
