BACKGROUND
Familias Unidas is an organization dedicated to providing quality mental health services that support the well-being for the community through preventive health education, outreach, psychosocial case management support and psychotherapy. Familias Unidas' holistic and cultural approach serves the Latino population and other diverse communities in West Contra Costa County.
Familias Unidas will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary at a fundraising event on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Assemble Restaurant located at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond. The fundraiser will be led by Familias Unidas' Board of Directors and is part of a new strategic plan to increase philanthropic support. Familias Unidas will donate all funds raised to sustain their programs, which have been impacted by decreased funding from local, state and federal resources that directly benefits families of San Pablo.
Support of the City of San Pablo has resulted in Familias Unidas being able to provide 500 primarily uninsured families with mental health and violence prevention services annually.
FISCAL IMPACT
A total of $30,000 has been budgeted and earmarked for Special Event Annual Sponsorships under the Adopted FY 2018-21 Quadrennial Operating Budget - City Council Department.
