BACKGROUND

In April 2019, the City Manager’s Office received formal requests from the Offices of Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia (D-1st District) and US Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (D-11th District) requesting an opportunity at a future City Council meeting to present formal recognition to former San Pablo Mayors/Councilmembers listed below for their public service on the San Pablo City Council which ended earlier this FY 2018/19 period, as follows:

Genoveva Garcia Calloway

(End of elected term/service:   December 2018)

Paul V. Morris

(End of elected term/service:   December 2018)

Cecilia Valdez

(End of elected term/service:   January 2019)

The City Manager recommends that the City Council approve by majority vote to proceed with scheduling a formal presentation at the June 3, 2019 City Council regular meeting via minute action vote to facilitate this formal recognition request.
