BACKGROUND

In February 2018, the San Pablo Police Department began the P.A.T.H. (Partnership in Assisting the Transition from Homelessness) Program due to a larger number of people experiencing homelessness in Contra Costa County, specifically in the City of San Pablo. P.A.T.H. was an impermanent program with the project goal to identify resources and scope of work needed to improve the quality of life for community members by engaging individuals and families experiencing homelessness and leveraging service-oriented strategies. The P.A.T.H. Program concluded in November with the identification of 88 illegal encampments and more than 300 contacts with people experiencing homelessness.
