BACKGROUND
The City Manager’s Office received an invitation from the Lytton Casino and Lifelong Medical Care announcing the 2018 San Pablo Lytton Casino Annual Golf Tournament and Fundraiser Event to benefit Lifelong’s Brookside Health and Urgent Care Center scheduled on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Richmond Country Club Golf Course in Richmond, CA (See attached event flyer).
Support of the Lifelong’s Brookside Health and Urgent Care Center is consistent with the City’s major policy goal of facilitating having health care readily available for its residents. LifeLong Medical Care is dedicated to ensuring that everyone regardless of their ability to pay, has access to high-quality health and social services in Contra Costa, Alameda and Marin County. Each year, LifeLong’s Brookside Health & Urgent Care Center provides health services to more than 52,000 patients within the three counties and 75% are below the Federal Poverty Level.
Each year, the Lytton Casino solicits corporate sponsors for its annual event, and the City of San Pablo pledged its support for a $5,000 corporate sponsorship for this year’s event. A letter from the Mayor to Lytton Rancheria Tribal Chairwoman Margie Mejia will be transmitted along with this event sponsorship following approval by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
A total of $30,000 has been budgeted and earmarked for Community Affairs - Special Event Annual Sponsorship under the Adopted FY 2018-21 Quadrennial Operating Budget - City Council Department (100-1110-44050). The sponsorship in the amount of $5,000 will be deducted from this expense balance leaving a remaining balance of $14,600 in FY 2018/19 for future sponsorships by the City Council.
