BACKGROUND

Familias Unidas is an organization dedicated to providing quality mental health services that support the well-being for the community through preventive health education, outreach, psychosocial case management support and psychotherapy.  Familias Unidas’ holistic and cultural approach serves the Latino population and other diverse communities in West Contra Costa County.

 

Familias Unidas is planning its 2nd Annual Tequila Tasting Fundraising event scheduled on Saturday, September 8, 2018.  The fundraiser will be led by Familias Unidas’ Board of Directors and is part of a new strategic plan to increase philanthropic support.  In 2018, Familias Unidas will donate all funds raised to sustain their programs that has been impacted by decreased funding from local, state and federal resources.  

 

FISCAL IMPACT

A total of $30,000 has been budgeted and earmarked for Special Event Annual Sponsorships under the Adopted FY 2018-21 Quadrennial Operating Budget - City Council Department.  The authorized sponsorship in the amount of $2,500 will be deducted from this expense balance leaving a remaining balance of $19,600 for the remainder of FY 2018/19 period for future sponsorship by the City Council.
