BACKGROUND
On June 18, 2018 the City Manager's Office received a request from Joseph Aita, West Contra Costa Salesian Boys and Girls Club (WCCSBGC) President, announcing their annual golf tournament. The event will be held at the historic Richmond Country Club on Monday, August 27, 2018, and the tournament is their most significant fundraising event.

For the past 72 years, the WCC Salesian Boys and Girls Club (WCCSBGC) has remained dedicated to ensuring that underserved children and teens in the communities of San Pablo and Richmond have access to quality after school and summer programs that enhance their lives and shape their future. Each year, over 1,300 youth participate in a broad range of programs in five core areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. The youth also receive daily tutoring and homework assistance. The WCCSBGC also offers a 7-week summer program with a learning loss prevention component that integrates academic enrichment activities. Nearly all of the Club's membership comes from low-income families.
