The entry remodel project for the Church Lane Senior Center is an adopted policy item under the Infrastructure policy area, Building Maintenance category of the FY 2018-21 City Council Priority Workplan, effective November 1, 2017.
CEQA Compliance Statement
Staff evaluation of the project with respect to the California Environmental Quality Act has recommended that it be found to be categorically exempt under Section 15301[h], "Existing Facilities" of the CEQA guidelines, on the basis that the project involves the maintenance and minor alteration of existing public facilities with no expansion in use.
BACKGROUND
In early 2017, the Community Services Department identified a need to remodel the Church Lane Senior Center main entry hall by removing two walls of the adjacent office to open up the entrance area. In January 2018 the City hired JMEC Engineering to design the alterations.
In May 2018, staff solicited informal bids for the Church Lane Senior Center Entry Remodel Project (CLS-CRM). The bid and contract documents require outreach to San Pablo subcontractors and workers through the San Pablo Economic Development Corporation (EDC). On May 15, 2018, the City received two sealed bids. The bid results are summarized below.
