FY 2023-25 Council Priority Workplan Compliance Statement
Build a Healthy Community - 109 Develop Public Facilities for Active Living is an adopted policy item under the FY 2023-25 Council Priority Workplan, effective May 1, 2023.

BACKGROUND
On April 28, 2017, the Governor signed Senate Bill 1 (SB1), Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, to address transportation funding shortfalls statewide. SB1 established a Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) in the State Transportation Fund. Since January 2018, the State Controller has been depositing funds generated from increased fuel taxes and vehicle registration fees into the RMRA. A portion of the RMRA funds are distributed on a monthly basis to the City for basic road maintenance rehabilitation and critical safety projects on local streets and road systems. In Fiscal Year 2023/24, the City of San Pablo is projected to receive $721,720 in SB1 RMRA funding.

On June 21, 2022, the City Council through Resolution 2022-101 approved a proposed project list to complete the Citywide Slurry Seal Pavement Rehabilitation Project (0602) during FY2022/23. The slurry seal project includes crack seals and slurry seals of various streets throughout the City that were selected based on pavement condition index (PCI). The project is currently underway and is expected to be completed in late summer 2023.
