BACKGROUND
On March 13, 2024, the City received a request from Darris Thomas, member of the Contra Costa County MEDS Coalition (MEDS), to issue a proclamation acknowledging the month of March as Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Month. MEDS’ mission is to prevent prescription drug-related overdoses, addiction and crimes through community education and engagement, policy change, and advocacy.
This request was approved by City Council via minute order at its March 18, 2024 City Council meeting.
