Strengthen Existing and New Technology Programs, Public Facility/Infrastructure Projects, and Future Workplace Development Programs/Services To Enhance SPPD Crime-Reduction Goals, Community Policing, Mental Health, and Training Programs is an adopted policy item under the FY 2023-25 City Council Priority Workplan, adopted May 1, 2023.
BACKGROUND
The Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District (District) has relied on external consultants to manage its IT services. As of October 1, 2024, the District is proposing to engage with the City of San Pablo to provide managed IT services, including server management, network monitoring, security updates, disaster recovery services, and user support, as outlined in Exhibit A of the proposed agreement.
The City of San Pablo will oversee key aspects of the District's technological infrastructure, ensuring the stability and security of systems that support District operations, including Office 365 user management, backup verification, and hardware management. Regular maintenance and upgrades to software and hardware systems are critical to avoid disruption of services to the community.
