COUNCIL PRIORITY WORKPLAN statement

Build a Healthy Community is a major policy goal in the recently adopted City Council Priority Work Plan FY 2025-27, adopted April 7, 2025.

 

BACKGROUND

On February 2, 2026, the City received a request from Phia Halleen, member of the Contra Costa County MEDS Coalition, to issue a proclamation acknowledging the month of March as Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Month. Ms. Halleen is also requesting a formal presentation of the proclamation at the next City Council meeting.

 

Procedurally, the City Council must approve requests for Proclamations by majority vote via minute action prior to official issuance.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact related to this agenda item other than staff time spent to create the Proclamation.
