BACKGROUND
On March 21, 2022, pursuant to Resolution 2022-043, City Council authorized staff to apply for Caltrans' Active Transpiration Program (ATP) Cycle 6 grant for the Broadway-El Portal Safe Routes Project ("Project").
On June 15, 2022, staff submitted an application for the ATP Cycle 6 grant. On January 11, 2023, the Broadway-El Portal Safe Routes Project was approved by Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for ATP Cycle 6 grant funding in the amount of $7,248,000.
On April 17, 2023, pursuant to Resolution 2023-159, City Council accepted the grant funds.
Staff further confirms that the City is eligible and in good standing to receive federal and state funding.
To receive state and federal funds, the City or its designee will need to execute several Program Supplemental Agreements, Fund Exchange Agreements and/or Fund Transfer Agreements and any amendments thereto throughout the Project.
