Strengthen existing and new technology programs, public facility/infrastructure projects, and future workplace development programs/services to enhance SPPD crime reduction goals, community policing, mental health, and training programs is an adopted policy item under the FY 2023-25 City Council Priority Workplan, adopted May 1, 2023.

BACKGROUND
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) provides unsolicited federal funds to every municipality to be used solely for frontline police services. Under this federal grant program, the City of San Pablo Police Department (SPPD) receives awarded funds of varying amounts.

On August 24, 2023, the City of San Pablo Police Department submitted a JAG application in the amount of $12,268 to fund continued subscription services for twenty (20) mobile routers to support SPPD operations. On September 25, 2023, SPPD's JAG application was approved for an award amount of $14,922.
