BACKGROUND
The Information Technology (IT) Division previously shared a vehicle with the Community Development Department. However, due to the IT Division's responsibilities and operating demands, dedicated access to a vehicle became essential. The IT Division transports IT hardware equipment and performs critical work at off-site locations. Ensuring the availability of a vehicle enhances efficiency, ensures timely response for support needs, and improves the IT Division's ability to meet the City's operational needs across multiple sites. Accordingly, and pursuant to the City Manager's administrative authority, the City has purchased a Tesla Model 3 in the amount of $49,762.83.
APPROPRIATION
The IT Division requests that the City Council authorize the appropriation of $49,762.83 from the Asset & Vehicle Replacement Internal Service Fund (ISF Fund 140) for the vehicle purchase. Funding this purchase from the Asset & Vehicle Replacement Internal Service Fund (ISF Fund 140) ensures that the purchase will not have any fiscal impact on the General Fund.
