BACKGROUND

The Public Works Department Maintenance Division staff has identified a need to purchase a flatbed dump truck in order to support litter and debris clean-up throughout the City. 

 

City staff has researched available vehicles options and has found a suitable vehicle that meets the City’s requirements. The vehicle, which is a Ford F350 Regular Cab with flatbed dump, is available through the State of California CMAS Cooperative Purchase Program.  Purchases through the CMAS program do not require a separate City bid, as they are under an existing government contract (State of California Contract 1-16-23-23A). Therefore, City staff recommends the purchase of the Ford F350 Regular Cab with flatbed dump to meet the existing need.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

The cost of the vehicle is $59,665, as shown in Exhibit A. Funding in the amount of $49,665 is available from the approved FY 2018/19 General Fund Designated Reserves Vehicle and Large Equipment Replacement (100-0000-00000) and $10,000 is available under the professional services account in the Public Works Maintenance budget (200-3710-43600) to transfer to the Vehicle Replacement Fund for a total of $59,665. Therefore, funding needs to be appropriated as follows:
