BACKGROUND

The Information Technology (IT) Division began utilizing the SenseOn platform in 2024. SenseOn has provided the City with modern endpoint protection with 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring and rapid threat response. Staff have been pleased with the effectiveness of the solution, the responsiveness and quality of the SOC, and are looking to continue using this platform with a multi-year agreement to lock in pricing and realize cost savings.

 

PURCHASING

This purchase is in accordance with City of San Pablo Municipal Code Chapter 3.16, pursuant to the specialized services combined with product purchasing exemption in Section 3.16.110(B), which allows the City to forgo formal and informal bidding requirements when procuring intellectual property with the retention of specialized services which are integral in the use of the of the product.

 

City of San Pablo Information Technology staff conducted an informal bidding procedure to ensure that the City procured a solution based on price and the best overall value to the City. The City received quotes from three vendors, SenseOn ($57,000 over three years), CIS Crowdstrike ($19,800 per year or an estimated $59,400 over three years), and Xerox SentinelOne ($107,531 over three years). SenseOn provides a solution that fits the City’s overall needs at the lowest cost.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

The total contract cost of $57,000 will be appropriated from the IT Division’s existing operating budget Fund 100-1510-42005.
